Alberto Garzón is currently a congressman in the Spanish Parliament or Unidos Podemos and the Federal Coordinator of Izquierda Unida (United Left). He has a BA on Economics from the University of Malaga and during his student years he participated in the foundation of Students for Critical Economics. After completing a Master in International Economics in the Universidad Complutense de Madrid he became actively involved in the 15-M Movement which would take him to the Congress of the Deputies in the Izquierda Unidad list of 2011, the youngest congressman in that legislature. Garzón is a member of ATTAC Spain and has published several books of political philosophy and popularization of Economics, two of which in collaboration with the reputed economists Juan Torres López y Vicenç Navarro.
